1. Excellent buffer performance
Moderate pH range:

The effective buffer range of MES is pH 5.5-6.7, which is especially suitable for experimental needs in weakly acidic environments.
Strong buffering capacity:

At close to its pKa value (about 6.1), MES exhibits excellent buffering capacity and can stabilize the pH value of the solution.

 

2. Low UV absorption
Low interference:

The absorption of MES in the ultraviolet region (< 260 nm) is extremely low, and will not interfere with the ultraviolet detection of proteins, nucleic acids and other biomolecules, especially suitable for spectral analysis and chromatography experiments.

 

3. Good solubility
High water solubility:

MES is easily soluble in water, and the solubility is about 0.5 M (about 100 g/L) at 25°C, which is easy to prepare high concentration buffer.
Compatible with biological samples:

Its solubility enables it to be compatible with most biological samples without causing sedimentation or interference.
