● Determination by colorimetric method
4-amino-biphenyl can react with sulfate under specific conditions to produce colored substances. For example, in acidic media, 4-amino-biphenyl undergoes a series of chemical reactions with sulfate and other reagents, and finally forms a colored complex with an absorption peak at a specific wavelength. By measuring the absorbance of the complex at a specific wavelength and using the Lambert-Beer law, it is possible to establish a curve of the relationship between the absorbance and the sulfate concentration, so as to realize the quantitative determination of the sulfate content in the sample.
