Used in completion fluids
Oil and gas layer protection: The CMC in the completion fluid can form a protective film on the well wall and the surface of the oil and gas layer to prevent the drilling fluid and other foreign fluids from damaging the oil and gas layer during the completion process, such as clay swelling and particle migration, so as to protect the permeability and productivity of the oil and gas layer and improve the production and recovery of the oil and gas well.
Stabilizing the wellbore: During the completion phase, the wellbore needs to be stabilized to ensure the safety and smoothness of subsequent operations. CMC can adjust the performance of the completion fluid to have the right viscosity and filtration properties, which can help maintain the mechanical balance of the well wall and prevent the collapse or shrinkage of the well wall.

Excipients for tablets and capsules
Adhesive: CMC can be used as an adhesive in tablet production.
